The
perfect combination of uniqueness and diversity has made the world an
interesting destination. Puzzling as well as dazzling phenomena, conditions
such as leucism, albinism as well as piebaldism are really surprising.
Today, we
thought of presenting you with some fascinating pictures of an adorable baby
deer called Dragon. He was rejected and ignored by his mother at birth. Thus,
he was adopted by caring men with big hearts at the animal Deer Tracks
Junction, Cedar Springs. The baby deer was named the Dragon thereafter.
Dragon
has a genetic condition called piebald. Piebaldism occurs when there's an
absence of melanocyte cells in the skin and the hair. Melanin cells produce
melanin pigment which helps with the color of the skin, eye as well as hair.
Lack of melanocytes leads to skin patches plus lighter hair. That's the true
reason for Dragon's underbody to remain white.
Piebaldism
isn't at all a normal condition. It is unique. Only about 1% of deer are born
with this condition and their life expectancy too is low as their mothers
abandon them at birth. They are more likely to become the prey of dangerous
predators due to the loss of pigments. And also their visual, as well as
auditory senses, are weaker than the rest. All these reasons develop the threat
to become the prey at any time. However, Dragon was quite luckier than the
others as he was being raised under the care of human guardians.
Even
though the people enjoyed his company all the time, he passed away due to his
health complications just before the first birthday. “Well, sadly, this is an
update that I never wanted to have to make. Despite all medical intervention
available, we lost our little Dragon. It has been a tough time here, and he
will be greatly missed by all,” wrote Deer Tracks Junction on their official
Facebook page.
Anyhow
one thing is sure and it is the existence of Dragon's unerasable cute memories.
He will remain as the cutest unique deer at the Deer Tracks Junction who
received the care of all the big-hearted humans. Scroll down to check out his
