Prince William and Kate
Middleton shared a never-before-seen photo from their wedding this week as
they celebrate 13 years of marriage.
The
Prince and Princess of Wales married on April 29, 2011—can you believe it's
been that long? Yesterday, they shared the mentioned photo to commemorate their
heartfelt anniversary.
The
black-and-white image shows Kate holding her wedding bouquet, with William
standing behind her, his hands lovingly placed on her waist.
“13
years ago today!” the caption of the post, shared across the couple’s
social media channels, read.
Credit
for the new image goes to Millie Pilkington, the portrait photographer who also
captured the photo of King Charles and Queen Camilla released for the first
anniversary of their coronation.
Prince
William and Kate first met as students at the University of St. Andrews in
Scotland in 2001, a decade before their eventual wedding. The couple now have
three children: Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 6.
While
sharing a previously unseen portrait from their wedding day might not seem like
a big deal, royal fans worldwide eagerly welcome any updates following the
shocking announcement of Kate’s cancer diagnosis.
Earlier
this year, the Princess of Wales became the subject of widespread speculation
after she stepped back from the public eye following what Kensington Palace
described as a "planned abdominal procedure" in January.
Kate
eventually disclosed her cancer diagnosis to the public, though she did not
specify the type or stage of the cancer. In the same video, she confirmed she
would undergo preventative chemotherapy to combat the disease.
Since
then, little has been disclosed about the Princess's condition or health,
though William resumed his royal duties last week.
“He
is a very reliable, strong person. She doesn’t feel isolated in this because of
William, who is right beside her,” a source told PEOPLE of the royal couple’s
bond.
According
to PEOPLE, William and Kate are known to spend a lot of time
at their country home of Anmer Hall, part of the royal estate of Sandringham.
It is there that Kate is said to feel most ‘at home’.
