There was a time when Brad Pitt was
arguably deemed the most eligible bachelor on the planet. However, that time
has passed.
Fans have been aware of his relationship
with Ines de Ramon for quite some time now; reportedly, the couple had planned
to celebrate his milestone 60th birthday with a relaxed, low-key week.
PEOPLE
reported that Pitt didn't have extravagant plans following his sixtieth
birthday on Monday. His choice to spend quality time with De Ramon speaks
volumes about his dedication to her.
A
source reportedly spoke to PEOPLE last month, describing De Ramon, who was
previously married to actor Paul Wesley, as "Brad's first significant relationship since his divorce from
Angelina Jolie."
Indeed,
it's reported that the Troy star has begun introducing the 32-year-old as his
girlfriend.
"He
introduces [Ines] as his girlfriend," an insider told PEOPLE. "It's wonderful to see him in such a
positive space. Ines brings him a lot of joy."
Pitt's
journey back to contentment has been filled with ups and downs, especially
after his turbulent separation from Angelina Jolie. The wounds from that
chapter seem to linger, with healing still in progress.
Affectionately
dubbed 'Brangelina' by the media, the high-profile couple first found love on
the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, igniting a romance that captivated headlines
globally.
However,
in 2016, Jolie filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. She also
sought sole custody of their six children: Maddox, Pax, Shiloh, Zahara,
Vivienne, and Knox.
On
January 21, 2021, Angelina Jolie sent an email to Brad Pitt, which has since
been made public. In the email, she expresses that she writes "with a heavy heart" to
inform Pitt of her decision to sell Miraval, a business centered around alcohol. This may allude to the
well-known plane incident where Pitt, allegedly intoxicated, was reported to
have "choked" one of their
children and "struck another in the
face" before pouring alcohol on her and the children.
As
recently as October, Brad made headlines for an unpleasant reason when an old
Instagram story surfaced where his adopted son, Pax, had referred to him as a "f****ing awful human being".
At
16 years old, Pax conveyed his discontent with his father and cautioned him
that "the truth will come to light
someday."
"You time and time again prove
yourself to be a terrible and despicable person," Pax wrote over
an image of his father accepting the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
"You have no consideration or
empathy toward your four youngest children, who tremble in fear when in your
presence," Pax expressed.
"You will never comprehend the
damage you have inflicted upon my family because you’re incapable of doing
so," Pax asserted.
"You have made the lives of those
closest to me a constant hell," the teen continued. "You may tell yourself and the world whatever you want, but the
truth will come to light someday."
