Mahogany's life took a positive turn when an agency offered her a modeling
opportunity. She began promoting body positivity and encouraging everyone to
embrace their uniqueness!

was born with a rare condition
Mahogany
resides in Tennessee. She was born with a rare condition known as lymphedema,
which leads to swelling due to the accumulation of excess fluids in the body's
soft tissue. This condition resulted in Geter having a 100-lb leg.
Following
her diagnosis, Mahogany faced significant difficulty walking due to the condition.
"It drains my energy, of course, because it's an extra 100 pounds,"
Mahogany stated. She undergoes extensive physiotherapy and massages to manage
the fibrosis in her leg.
Struggles
and difficulties while growing up
She
discussed her challenges during her upbringing: "I've experienced a lot of
depression because you're a young child, and you have numerous adults staring
at you. I would say it probably affects you more mentally and
emotionally," Mahogany expressed.
Mahogany
shared: "As a child, I never felt attractive. I felt unattractive, like a
freak of nature, and cried in private so many times." She declined every
surgery recommended by doctors and embraced herself just as she was.
Her
modeling journey started in 2017
Mahogany
was employed at Walmart. Her life took a positive turn when she was offered a
modeling opportunity in 2017. A photographer spotted her, and she agreed to let
him photograph her. "I thought, 'I'm getting older now, maybe it's time I
start showcasing my full body,' and hopefully, by doing so, I can inspire
someone else," Mahogany remarked.
Mahogany
was spotlighted in a YouTube video that quickly went viral, marking the
beginning of her flourishing career. Her social media presence surged with
numerous followers almost instantly. "Primarily, I've received a lot of
positive feedback, and what resonates with me the most is that it uplifts
people who also struggle with self-esteem," Mahogany expressed.
She
wants everyone to embrace their uniqueness
Mahogany
maintains a positive outlook and encourages others to do the same. Her goal is
for individuals to embrace their distinctive attributes. Mahogany advocates for
body positivity and inspires people to embrace self-love. "Online, people
have been incredibly kind and supportive towards me. It's not all about
trolling and negativity," she remarked.

"If
I ever achieve great success, I aspire to purchase a home for my mother and
support my family. After that, I'll devote myself to raising awareness about
lymphedema, as a way of giving back to all those who have shown me
kindness," Mahogany stated.
Her
journey has inspired many.
Mahogany
has grown stronger through her struggles, using her condition to inspire
others. "For the longest time, I felt incredibly low about myself, but as
I grew older and received immense support from the online lymphedema community
and my mom, who is my inspiration, I came to realize how beautiful I am. Not
just in appearance, but as a person," she shared.
