Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz have been
joyfully married for over nine years. Four years ago, they welcomed their first
child, a daughter, and have kept her out of the public eye since then. However,
the couple has recently shared the news of their second child's arrival, a son
named Cardinal.
The announcement came as a surprise to
many, as the couple has always been very private about their personal lives. In
their joint Instagram announcement, they shared a photo of a piece of artwork
with the words “A little bird whispered to me,” revealing the birth of their
son.
The
couple's caption stated, "We are blessed and excited to announce the birth
of our son, Cardinal Madden. He is awesome, and we are all so happy he is
here!" They also mentioned that they will not be sharing any photos of
their children for their safety and privacy.
This
isn't the first time the couple has kept their family news under wraps. They
tied the knot in 2015 and welcomed their daughter Raddix in 2019, only
announcing her birth after the fact. In the birth announcement, Cameron Diaz
wrote, "She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our
family."
While
the couple is delighted with their new addition, they also have a strong
instinct to safeguard their children’s privacy. They have chosen not to divulge
any details about their son’s birth, but according to a source close to the
couple, they faced numerous challenges to conceive their daughter and consider
her a miracle.
However,
not everyone supports their decision to have a child at this stage in their
lives. Some have criticized Cameron’s age, with one Instagram user commenting,
"Who the heck wants to become a parent at 51 years old?" But as with
any decision, there will always be differing opinions.
Despite
any criticism, Benji and Cameron are happy and grateful for their growing
family. They have opted to keep their children out of the public eye, and it's
important that we respect their decision.
We
wish them all the best as they embark on this new journey as a family of four.
