Here
we got a different friend. An albino flapshell turtle and this one is very rare
kind. Look at his shiny bright yellow shell. Beautiful.
This
guy popped up in West Bengal, India. Actually he was rescued by a Sujanpur
village farmer when he found the turtle while he walking on his field. He then
handed the turtle over to the forest officials once after he brought it home.
Forest officials then contacted expert to learn more about the turtle. What
else you suppose to do when you find something like that anyway.
Association
for Biodiversity Conservation executive director, Siddhartha Pati had said to
the media that experts says it is an extremely rare albino turtle with
estimated age of about two years. Furthermore, he says this is the second time
they found an albino turtle in India. There has been another albino turtle
found in Sindh few years ago.
For
those science facts lovers in among our readers, Siddhartha Pati explain about
albinism like this, “It is a congenital disorder and it is characterized by
complete or partial absence of tyrosine pigment. Also, sometimes a mutation
takes place in the gene sequence or there is a deficiency of tyrosine.” Okay,
he didn’t say that particularly for you. He said it to the media and we just
quote it here for you. Because, well, you matter. For us.
A rare yellow turtle was spotted & rescued in Balasore, Odisha yesterday.

Most probably it was an albino. One such aberration was recorded by locals in Sindh few years back. pic.twitter.com/ZHAN8bVccU
After
shared on twitter, this little turtle took over the internet really quick. Then
people started comparing the turtle to cheese and we have to admit, we cannot
argue with their point.
Mostly
south Asian countries get to see these flapshell turtles as they appear in
countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Myanmar. For this
guy by the way, he is escorted back to the wild safely by Indian authorities.
You
know, there is a big chance that your friends and family haven’t seen something
like this in their whole life. So here is a chance for you to be the smart one
in the room. Take our word on it and share this with them to see. (wink)
