During a
rain in Kenya, a 32-year-old photographer called Leighton Lum caught a snapshot
of a mother leopard hugging her infant whelp. Even the most ferocious creatures
can be gentle when cuddling with one of their kind, as this image demonstrates.
The
whelp, it turns out, was startled by the deluge and attempted to comfort mama
by waking her up. This is the moment when mama leopard hugged her baby to
reassure her that everything was alright. Leighton was in the right place at
the right moment we can all agree on that. This tender moment which he
witnessed, is not one that many photographers observe.
The
leopard wakes up and snuggles with her baby, as shown in his images, with a
large smile on her face. The youngster eventually became livelier and began
climbing the nearby trees.
It's a
tremendous treat to be able to witness these sensitive moments with animals, as
we don't get the chance to do so very often. Many photographers have remarked
that animal sightings have improved dramatically as a result of the pandemic
which has resulted in fewer people and automobiles visiting the area.
