Widdecombe, after murder suspect Joshua Kerry appeared in court for the first
time since being charged.

violent attack at her home in Devon before her death.

heard she had been at home having lunch when the alleged attack took place.
He also said there had been
concern after she failed to call in for a scheduled interview later that day,
which led her PA to ask her gardener to check on her welfare.
When the gardener entered the
property, he reportedly found her in the kitchen with serious head injuries.
Emergency services were then called, but she was pronounced dead a short time
later.

Suspect appears in court for first time
Joshua Kerry, 28, appeared at
Westminster Magistrates’ Court wearing a grey prison-issued tracksuit.
During the hearing, he confirmed
only the standard details required by the court, including his name, date of
birth and home address in Rotherham.
He was then remanded back into
custody and is expected to appear at the Old Bailey later this afternoon.
The case has moved quickly through
the courts since his arrest, which reportedly took place several days after the
incident at Widdecombe’s home in Haytor Vale, Devon.
