Meghan Markle is
set to make a highly anticipated appearance on MasterChef
Australia, and viewers are about to see a different side of the
Duchess of Sussex as she steps away from royal headlines and into the world of
food, storytelling and lifestyle.
The special episode, which has already generated
significant interest among fans, will air next week after it was revealed
earlier this year that Meghan took part in filming for the popular Australian
cooking competition.
Australian
broadcaster Channel
10 and production company Endemol Shine Australia
have confirmed that Meghan’s episode will premiere on Sunday, July
26, at 7pm Australian time.
During the
episode, Meghan will take on a special guest judging role, challenging
contestants to create a dish inspired by a single seasonal ingredient. Rather
than simply focusing on cooking techniques, the contestants will also be asked
to reveal the personal memories, emotions or stories connected to the
ingredient they choose.
The concept
reflects Meghan’s long-standing interest in food,
wellness, lifestyle and personal storytelling, areas she has
frequently explored through her previous projects.
The Duchess
will then taste each creation alongside the show’s judges, offering her
thoughts on the dishes and the stories behind them.
Why Meghan Markle agreed to join
MasterChef Australia
According to reports from Mediaweek,
Meghan had two major reasons for accepting the invitation to appear on the
show.
The Duchess
explained that her decision was influenced by her love of cooking and her
connection to Australia.
“What
attracted me to the MasterChef Australia kitchen? Two things: my love of food
and my love of Australia. It was an easy yes,” Meghan said.
She also
praised the programme and expressed her appreciation for being invited to take
part.
“It’s such a
great show. I’m just really honoured that I was asked to be able to be here
with you and to be able to judge some of these meals,” she added.
The appearance marks another step in Meghan’s continued focus on lifestyle entertainment, culinary content and personal branding, following the launch of her own Netflix series.
Meghan Markle returns to the
spotlight with lifestyle projects
Meghan’s MasterChef Australia appearance comes more
than a year after the release of her first season of the Netflix cooking and
lifestyle series With Love, Meghan.
The programme
showcased Meghan’s interest in hosting, recipes, home entertaining and creating
meaningful experiences around food.
The Duchess
recently celebrated another milestone connected to the series after revealing
that With
Love, Meghan received an Emmy nomination.
Sharing a
message alongside promotional artwork from the show, Meghan congratulated the
production team and wrote:
“A huge
congratulations to the amazing crew, producers, and team who worked on ‘With
Love, Meghan’ on Netflix. We are nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding
Lifestyle Series!”
The nomination
added another major moment to Meghan’s post-royal career, as she continues
building a public profile centred around media projects, lifestyle content
and creative ventures.
A new chapter beyond royal
headlines
Meghan Markle’s appearance on MasterChef Australia
highlights the Duchess’s ongoing transition into entertainment and
lifestyle-focused projects.
While her
relationship with the Royal Family continues to attract global attention, her
latest television appearance places the focus on her interests outside
traditional royal duties — including food, culture, creativity and
storytelling.
For MasterChef Australia viewers, the episode promises a rare opportunity to see Meghan in a relaxed setting, sharing her passion for food while judging some of the competition’s most personal and creative dishes.
