The Photographer Snaps A Unique Spotted Zebra Foal In Kenya

A unique sight of a zebra with spots instead of stripes was captured in Maasai Mara National park by a Photographer named Frank Liu from Kenya.

“Last night in Maasai Mara, a Maasai guide discovered a one-of-a-kind genetically altered baby zebra and named it Tira,” the photographer stated.

According to National Geographic, Tira has pseudomelanism, which is an uncommon hereditary condition that causes animals to have an aberrant stripe pattern.

According to the site, zebras with distinctive patterns like Tira, may encounter survival issues. “There's no reason to suppose he can't fit into the herd” if the zebra survives to adulthood.

The foal has a rare genetic defect that causes its stripe pattern to be aberrant.
