Mother
nature is a creator of a countless number of creatures and some among them are
more spectacular than the others. The largest animal on Earth is the whale. But
it’s not only their size that makes them famous among humans.
Whales are
considered as very affectionate mammals who are quite social than the others.
Perhaps you've heard that they’ve got talents to play and develop friendship.
Who wouldn’t have interest in meeting such friendly animals?
However, a
diver named James Moskito was able to help a friendly humpbackwhale in the waters near the Farallon Islands, off the coast of San
Francisco.
Anyhow, the
diver was able to realize that there was something wrong with it as soon as he
noticed the whale. It’s because the whale spent a long period on the surface of
the water.
He said:
“The whale
came up on a breath, came up, put its eye above the surface… looked at me. I
could tell it was looking at me and it just stayed there.”
Indeed it
was in need of help! It had become trapped in “blue steel,” which is a very
strong rope. They are often used by fishermen to trap the crabs from the ocean.
However,
the whale was suffering with immense pain. Jame had to take quick actions to
make the whale feel relieved. Thus, he went through his unique way of rescue!
Jame dove
beneath the deep waters to have a check from underneath.
“I was the
first diver in the water, and my heart sank when I saw all the lines wrapped
around it. I really didn’t think we were going to be able to save it.”
The hard
rope was twisted around the whale of the tail. Apart from that the whale had a
line which ran through the mouth too. And also it was pulled down to deep
waters by the anchor which was about 3,000-pound in weight.
James went
near the whale and put his hand on its eye, and said, “I’m here to help you,
I’m not going to hurt you.”
The whole
rescue process had taken about 5 hours and it had been a hard task. Eventually
all the divers along with Jame had succeeded in rescuing the animal.
Unlike,
most humans whales didn't forget to show their gratitude to the divers.
